Jill GilesPrincipal/Creative Director
Jill is the firm’s founder and creative wellspring — she initiates, supervises, and finalizes all the work that passes through the studio. She’s direct, funny, energetic [oh, please don’t drink another cup of coffee], and a contagious perfectionist. For Jill, the client’s message is paramount, to be communicated with relevance, given a look and feel that sets it apart from its competitors, and imbued with a level of design integrity that ensures market recognition and longevity.
Tyra SimpsonCopywriter/Studio Manager
Tyra’s been working at Giles Design almost as long as Jill has, having come on board about a year after the studio was established. She’s held a number of positions, from production artist to designer to production manager to studio manager. But through it all she was writing, and that’s what she does best. Her words are polished, informed, potent, and directed with great clarity at one thing: getting the client’s message across.
Doris PalmerosDesigner
Doris [pronounced “Doreese”] left Pushpin and NYC to be closer to family here in Texas. Her strong background in print design and illustration enhances her talent for logo concept/design and ability to communicate visually. Doris has a penchant for classic, clean, balanced typography. Her masters degree is from Tyler School of Art.
Seth RobertsDesigner
Still waters run deep. Seth’s quiet demeanor belies his swift humor, technical wizardry, and innovative design sense. His forte is website design and construction, digital communication, and nearly magical PhotoShop ability. Seth’s degree is from University of the Incarnate Word.
Marla SawyerExpeditor/Junior Designer
Need suede “ribbon” for a promo package? A swatch of Italian brocade the same color as a logo? A stack of tortillas that’s photo-worthy? Ask Marla and it’s done. And she’s no slouch as a junior designer, either. Degree from Trinity University.
Jan StoneAccounting Manager
Her game is numbers and she’s a pro. Jan keeps the studio finances in good working order. In addition to her accounting education and Realtor’s license, Jan has expert knowledge of sales tax regulations and presents seminars on the subject.
Carolyn PophamAccounting Assistant
Carolyn assists Jan in all aspects of the studio finances. She is indispensable to the “numbers” side of the studio, organizing accounts payable, tax documentation, inventory, and employee benefits.
DaisyLittle Dog
Daisy May McPossum, aka Filthy McDoo. She’s a Scottish Terrier with all the terrier traits — stubborn, feisty, determined — except one: she’s not aloof. In fact, Daisy is a bit of a tart. She casts all dignity aside in the presence of a man. Quite the elderly, grizzled little flirt, our Daisy.
OliverBig Dog
One hundred and fifty pounds of good-natured goofiness. Oliver is a Bouvier des Flandres with big, brown, smiling eyes and less-than-stellar intellect. He is extremely proud, as are we, of his talent for fetching the newspaper and removing squeakers from toys. Who’s a good boy? Who’s a good boy? Ollie’s a good boy!
